You the option to use a 4-digit passcode to prevent others from opening and using your phone without your permission.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
In order to keep the phone as secure as possible, there is no way for us to retrieve or override your passcode if you forget it. Please be careful to take note of your passcode.
How to Set a Passcode:
Settings > Preferences > Passcode > Toggle ON "Passcode"
-create a 4 digit passcode
-confirm your 4 digit passcode
Your passcode is now set. If you lock or sleep the phone, you will now need to enter this passcode in order to open the device.
How to Edit Passcode:
Settings > Preferences > Passcode > Reset Passcode
-Confirm you current passcode in order to change the passcode.
-Enter new passcode
-Confirm new passcode
How to Turn OFF Passcode:
Settings > Preferences > Passcode > Toggle OFF Passcode
-Confirm your current passcode in order to turn OFF the passcode.
What if I've forgotten my passcode?
Unfortunately, a factory reset is likely required. Once you log back in after a factory reset, contacts and tools will be preserved, however you will lose all conversation history and settings preferences.
To Factory Reset your phone when you forget your passcode:
- Plug in the phone to a charger using the provided micro USB cord
- Hold the POWER button and the VOLUME UP (upper small button on right side of phone) at the same time for 20-30 seconds.
- You will feel a vibration feedback from the phone and then it will begin to reboot.
- A box on your phone that says “erasing” should pop up. *
*IF THIS SAYS ‘no command’, immediately tap Power and Volume UP several times until the Android Recovery menu pops up. You will use the Volume Up and Down buttons to navigate to ‘clear data/factory reset’, then use the power button to enter. Then, you will select ‘reboot system’ after that is finished and again use the power button to enter.
Once the phone is restarted, on the phone greeting screen choose LOG IN, or go to Settings > Account & Info > Light Account > Log in to log back into your Light account.
You can force a re-sync ofyour contacts by going to Settings > Preferences > Phone > Contacts > Sync Contacts.
