Activating Your Light Account
Once you’ve received your replacement phone, please power the device on and either connect to Wi-Fi or insert an active SIM. Once the phone has an internet connection, you’ll then sign into your Light Account.
NOTE: if you previously lost your phone with an active Light SIM inside, we will happily provide a new SIM for you and we can activate it with your old number if you'd like.
You will then use your Dashboard to export your old contacts, and re-add those to your new device.
Go to the Dashboard > Phone > [select your old phone] > Contacts > Export Contacts > Download.
This will download a .vcf file which contains all of your contacts. Then return to the Dashboard > Phone > [select the new device] > Contacts > Import Contacts > and upload the .vcf that was just generated.
After that, you can trigger a sync on your Light Phone by going to Settings > Preferences > Phone > Contacts > Sync Contacts.
You will need to add tools back to your phone. For Music and Podcasts, you’ll need to re-add songs and podcasts. Your notes from your old phone will not transfer over.
Removing the Old Device from Your Dashboard
If you'd like to remove the old device from your dashboard, we can do that for you manually if you email email@example.com letting us know the Light Account email address and device you'd like to disassociate. Note: this will delete any contacts/tool data that was stored with that device.
